Mental Health Australia
runs workshops throughout Australia to train health professionals in
the use of DBT. As a service to the participants
attending our workshops, we have developed a list of
Australian Health Professionals who use DBT when treating
personality disorders and other difficult to treat disorders.
Referral information is supplied solely by the individual
organisations and providers themselves and is not checked by Mental
Health Australia.
Health Professionals are listed in the Mental Health Australia directory as part of
their workshop attendance benefits. Any and all workshop attendees
who request to be listed in the Mental Health Australia directory
are listed and, as a general rule, no one is excluded.
Mental Health Australia
is not an online health care provider, and does not give medical
advice or treatment online. Mental Health Australia
offers its directory as a resource for treatment, support groups, or
research studies. However, Mental Health Australia does not
pre-screen or pre-evaluate the organisations or providers in any way
before they are put on the list. Nor does Mental Health Australia
pre-screen, or pre-evaluate, the Medicare/Health Insurance status of
these providers. For example, Mental Health Australia does not
verify the credentials or licensing of any of the providers or group
facilitators before they are listed.
Mental Health Australia
DOES NOT RECOMMEND OR ENDORSE ANY OF THE LISTED ORGANISATIONS,
SERVICE PROVIDERS, SUPPORT GROUPS, OR RESEARCH STUDIES. You are
responsible for interviewing and selecting a suitable providers or
support group facilitators. Therefore, you should contact providers,
group facilitators, or research study contacts directly for relevant
information, such as information on insurance and Medicare coverage.
If you are under 18 years of age, Mental Health Australia
suggests that you seek the advice of a guardian or other adult
when considering providers. By viewing this list of resources,
you understand and agree that Mental Health Australia is in no
way responsible for the acts, omissions, or services of any of
the providers, support groups, or research studies, or for any other
actions taken based upon the information made available by Mental
Health Australia.
