Mental Health Australia was founded to assist mental health and wellbeing professionals ability to contribute to enhancement and management of every-day life of their clients, to provide the confidential treatment and care of those with mental and emotional disorders, and to advance the promotion of mental health in a professional manner.

What is Mental Health?

Mental health is the representation of social, emotional and spiritual well-being. Mental Health provides individuals with the vigour necessary for active living, achieving goals and work together in ways that are respectful and correct.  Mental Health influences every aspect of daily life. Mental and physical health go hand in hand.

Every year millions of Australian's experience problems and concerns when their mental health is not maintained. Depressive and anxiety disorders, suicide, domestic violence, substance abuse, schizophrenia, and relationships are just a few of the concerns.
